A family-run English language school in Ashcott, Somerset, welcoming young people from France, Italy and beyond.
Why we started Seamoor
We are parents ourselves, and for many years we worked as a local organiser for a number of tour operators. That gave us a clear view of where student programmes fall short, and of what it takes to put them right.
Many tour operators sell language holidays through local organisers who have no school of their own. Hiring facilities comes at a high cost, and tight budgets are often reflected in the quality of the course. We set up Seamoor with our own schools so that the money goes where it matters.
We want every student to return home having had a wonderful experience: an educational programme balanced with real cultural experiences, lasting memories, and a warm, caring host family to practise English with every day.
Our schools
We have two schools, available at Easter, in the summer and over Christmas. Both are fully set up for teaching, have sports facilities within the grounds, and are looked after by our staff throughout the year.
Teaching
- Lessons taught by fully qualified TEFL teachers
- An English test on the first day to find each student's level
- Small groups by ability
- A course workbook to practise with the host family
- A certificate at the end of the course
Safety and care
- All staff and excursion guides vetted and police checked
- At least three guides on every afternoon and full-day excursion
- Host families visited and checked before each student arrives
- Families introduced to parents before the trip
