Two-Week Study Holiday
Lessons in small groups by level, two weekends with your host family, and excursions from Glastonbury to Bath, London and Cardiff.

Day by day
Arrival
Saturday arrival
- Students arrive at the centre and meet their host families.
Day 1
Welcome and placement test
- Welcome from the principal and director of studies, and an introduction to the centre.
- An English test to find each student’s level, followed by a break and lunch.
- Groups are split into three by level, and students meet their group tutor for the course.
- Return to host families at 5:30pm.
Day 2
A day with your host family
- A full day immersed in family life, practising English.
Day 3
Lessons and Cheddar Gorge
- Morning: English lessons with a short break mid-morning.
- Afternoon: excursion to Cheddar Gorge with our tour guide. Return to the centre at 5:30pm.
Day 4
A day in Bath
- A full day in the city of Bath with a professional guide, including a guided tour of the city and an afternoon visit to the Roman Baths. Return to host families at 6pm.
Day 5
Lessons and swimming
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: swimming at Lakeside Pool, followed by a visit to Shepton Mallet.
Day 6
Lessons and Wells
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: excursion to Wells, England’s smallest city, visiting the Bishop’s Palace and Wells Cathedral.
Day 7
Lessons and Street
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: Clarks Village in Street and, weather permitting, swimming at Greenbank open-air pool.
Days 8 and 9
Weekend with your host family
- Time with the host family, sharing what you have learnt and practising English with the help of your course workbook.
Day 10
A day in London
- A full day in London, visiting museums of your choice. Return to the centre at 9pm.
Day 11
Lessons, Shepton Mallet and swimming
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: Shepton Mallet and Lakeside Pool. Return to host families at 5:30pm.
Day 12
Lessons and Glastonbury
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: excursion to Glastonbury, visiting the Chalice Well and Glastonbury Abbey.
Day 13
A day in Cardiff
- A full day in Cardiff visiting St Fagans National Museum of History. Return to the centre at 7pm.
Day 14
Cheddar Gorge and farewell party
- Morning: English lessons, then lunch.
- Afternoon: Cheddar Gorge and caves, tasting the famous cheddar cheese and watching a local sweet-making demonstration. Return to the centre at 6pm.
- Evening: farewell disco and barbecue from 6pm to 10pm, with host families invited.
Day 15
Departure
- Farewell to the host families and departure for home.
